In The City of Ember: The People of Sparks it features an young man named
Doon, and a young woman named Lina, who have lead most of the city of
Ember, who are over 400, to a town of a little more than 350. The town of
Sparks. Sparks, allowed the Emberites to stay, but they had to work to live.
Eventually, the food supply began to dwindle. But Lina is not there to witness
it. Anger starts to spread. When Lina gets back, the “spark” has turned into
a fire of anger. She only has a little time before that fire turns into a wildfire.
Soon to start a war between the people of Ember and Sparks. When a
governor of Sparks tries using a cannon, it backfires and starts a real fire.
Doon is in the town hall, and Lina is in the throng of people ready to take
over the town of Sparks. And a boy, Torren, is in a pine tree. The fire hits
the tree. Doon, saves Torren, and Lina takes a step away from everything
she has ever known, and starts to help save the town buildings. Drama,
action, and fear, starts to settle in this part of the book. And when all of it is o
ver, the people of Sparks fully accept the people of Ember into their town.
